This is Scottish tablet in its purest form. Our Totally Tempting Tablet contains no preservatives whatsoever — just sugar, butter, condensed milk, water, and skimmed milk powder. That's it. Made fresh every day, poured onto our traditional cast-iron cooling tables, and cut by hand.
The recipe dates back to the early 1900s (thanks Gran!) and we've simply scaled it up in our open pan boilers. It's golden-brown with that familiar slight granular texture — proper Scottish tablet the way it should be. Because there are no preservatives, it has a shelf life of around 5 weeks, so it's best enjoyed fresh.
